When the Camels come a calling…

I’ve just had two glorious chilled out days near Ouarzazate, next to a lake and in the middle of nowhere with the sunny days and cold nights. Tomorrow I’m back on the road, but tomorrow night I am staying somewhere with Wi-Fi so I can upload all my new videos.

Even though we camped away from the water – the Mozzies still found me and somehow I got stung under my left eye. The next morning it swelled-up and looked like I’d been punched. Today its started to go away but it swelled up so much yesterday that I couldn’t see out of my eye. Spooky…!

For the past two days we’ve been surrounded by camels, as the lake is obviously a popular meeting and watering place for them. Last night about 20 camels slept only a few metres from out tents. Scary…! There was lots of wookie type noises through the night, as well as deep grumbles. It’s a completely surreal experience when you are surrounded by camels and all you’ve got between them and you is a couple of millimetres of tent fabric. But it was truly something I will always remember. When you try to get close to the camels they do get a bit belligerent and hissy, but I got a few pictures. Anyway, back on the road tomorrow with more miles to ride…
