These are maps of the big trips I’ve made. In between these trips I’ve travelled around the whole of Scotland, Wales and England, but the maps I’m going to include here are the big trips I’ve made into Europe and West Africa. If you click on a map – it will take you through to Google Maps so you can see my stopping-off points.

2022 – Northern Europe
This was my first trip to Europe on the Suzuki V-Strom DL1000. I caught the ferry from Hull to Rotterdam, and toured around Northern Europe. I used the same ferry back two months later.

2023 – West Africa Outbound
The Outward Journey. Catching the ferry from Portsmouth to Santander, I headed due-south, through Spain to Gibraltar, Algeciras and then Tangier in Morocco. From there it was east, then south to the desert, west and then south towards the Western Sahara – and Mauritania. From there is was south to Senegal and the Gambia.

2024 – West Africa Inbound
The Return Journey – after leaving Banjul in The Gambia I headed north, through Senegal, Mauritania, Morocco, Spain, Portugal and back into Spain – ending up at Bilbao. I caught the ferry to from Bilbao to Rosslare, and after riding north (with some snow) I then caught the ferry from Belfast to Birkenhead before arriving back in Scotland – very cold and very happy after 5 months on the road.

2024 – Europe
Catching the ferry from Rosslare to Cherbourg, I visited Normandy, Germany, Liechtenstein, Austria, Italy, Sardinia, Corsica, France, Spain and then catching the ferry from Bilbao to Rosslare three months later. From there it was up to Belfast and then across to Scotland.

2025 – Europe & Turkey
Catching Le Shuttle form Folkestone to Calais, I went over to Germany then headed down to Italy. After catching a ferry over to Croatia, I rode around the Balkans to Greece and then Turkey. After Turkey I headed north to Estonia where I caught another ferry to Sweden. After that I headed back to the Netherlands, caught a ferry to Hull, rode over to Liverpool and caught another ferry to Belfast. After a week I caught a ferry to Scotland and was home for tea-time…
