Happy New year...
4 Jan 2026. And happy New Year...! Here's hoping that 2026 is a good year for everyone, and that this summer more bike owners get their shiny garage princess packed and out on the road. It's what bikes are for....
So where am I at the moment...? Well, I'm at home in Scotland and I've gone into hibernation mode - and saving money for this years travel.
I try to ride my bike 12 months of the year, by mid November the roads were getting very greasy with all the road salt, but seeing I'm back home and have no-where to go there doesn't seem much point in keeping it out - so I've gave the bike a good clean, oiled it up like a suckling pig and put it away in someone's shed for the winter. I'll get it out again probably in March when I start thinking about my next travels.
As I said before, I was thinking about the USA for 2026, but I've binned that idea for the moment. Well, I've always wanted to spend more time in northern Europe, especially Norway, but I do like the desert so at the moment I'm thinking about north Africa again. I sometimes wonder if it would be easier to throw a dart at a map of the world because I just cant seem to decide where to go next...
