Hello Again Gibraltar…

14 FEB – After a good night’s sleep I woke up to a warm and sunny day. las night’s sleep was okay but could have been better. It was the first night using my new mattress and I’m not very keen on it. the mattress is thinner and harder than the previous mattress, but it’s better than sleeping on the ground. Also, its bigger than the other mattress, which means I’ve had to have a re-shuffle with my luggage.

After breakfast I had a nice long shower, got on the bike and headed over to Gibraltar. I do like Gibraltar. It’s got a great buzz about it, and it has its own particular charm. I tried to go to the top of the rock on the bike, but you can only get half-way up on your own vehicle. If you want to go to the top you have to get in one of the nearby taxi’s, or go back to the bottom and catch the cable-car. I had already been to the cable-car and it was £25 to go to the top. I’ve already been to the top several time many years before so I left and after a ride around Gibraltar I went into town, parked up and went for a bimble for a few hours.

After a good walk around, some Fish & Chips and a little bit of shopping I headed for Morrisons to do more shopping. With tea, milk, Jaffa cakes and some food I got back on the bike, left Gibraltar and headed back to La Linea. getting through the border control is quick and super easy. There is even a special lane for motorbikes, scooters and cycles, and the ride back to the campsite only took a few minutes.

Tomorrow I’m going to head into Spain, and maybe Seville…
