Today was around 180 to 200 miles following the coastal road along the south eastern shore of Sweden. It rained all morning – my first rain since I’ve left the UK – but when it stopped the sun soon dried me out. I stopped a few times at some lovely villages. The strangest thing is that the villages seem almost empty. I assume that most people are either at work of working from home. When I got to Trellesborg this afternoon it was showing 21 degrees on the sunshineometer, which I am enjoying because the past few days in Sweden were a bit ‘chilly’.
I was going to camp at a free camp site on the shore of the Baltic but it’s blowing a real hooley today and I didn’t fancy having my tent blown away so I paid for a normal campsite and I’ve got a great sheltered spot. And besides, I did need a shower…
I’m up at 5 tomorrow so putting my tent away in the dark should be fun, because tomorrow I’m off to Poland on the early ferry. It’s a seven hour crossing so plenty of time for some sleep and daydreaming while we cross the Baltic.
