At the moment I am at Guise in Northern France. I rode up from Bayeux yesterday, which was around 250 miles. I was heading for the Ardennes, but you know, some days you’re in the mood to ride a long way and sometimes not. Also, yesterday afternoon was about 32/34 degrees and I was feeling the heat so while I had stopped in the late afternoon for a break, I was looking at my phone and saw there was a campsite not far away – so the decision was made.
The municipal campsite at Guise is superb. Wonderfully clean with hot showers, and it’s so peaceful. There’s only a few other campervans here, so the site is really quiet. And all this for 10eu a night. I was going to get back on the road tomorrow but I like it here so much that I’m going to stay another day to chill-out and explore nearby Cambrai.
Next I’m heading north and east to the northern part of Luxembourg and then a few days later – Germany – and hopefully some currywurst…
