Pottenstein was near Nuremberg, and I was going to stay for a few days but looking at my weather app I knew that there was alot of rain coming in and also a big drop in temperature so I decided to lift and shift and ride over to Bad Kreuzenach – which is south of Frankfurt and north of Heidelberg – which promised to be a bit dryer and a bit warmer.
The ride over wasn’t too bad but along the way there was a few spells of really heavy rain, but as the day progressed the weather got clearer, warmer and drier. As well as my headlight, I also have two daytime running lights and when I stopped for a break I noticed that one of them was intermittent, which must of been sending semaphore messages to oncoming truckers. Something I need to fix tomorrow as I don’t like riding without my running lights. It’s probably water, but hopefully tomorrow.
I finally arrived at my campsite and strangely enough the sun started shining. I could have done with that earlier in the day. And just like every camp site I’ve visited on this trip – except the site at Malmo in Sweden – I was the only person under canvas. All the camp sites I’ve visited seem to be mostly taken over by permanent mobile homes or caravans, and what is left is usually taken up by camper vans. I suppose you cant blame campsites for trying to gain as much money as they can, but again I was the only camper in the village – or maybe I’m just mad for camping this late in the year…

Shopping in the local supermarket, I cam across this…Bonduelle baked beans in HOT Tomato sauce – and it is utterly devine. I’m a connoisseur of baked beans, and this is definitely the crem de la crem of baked beans. I just wish I had more space to take a few tins with me.
