After several days and nights of perpetual rain, we had a clear day so it was a good opportunity to get the V-Strom out and on the road – as if an excuse was really needed..! The day was a bit cold, but it was dry – which is essential for going on a day trip – so I decided to head north west into Argyll. Coming off the A83 just before Inverary I followed a B-road into the hills which then turned into a logging track going north east, and after about 8 miles I arrived at Lochan Shira.
I had my brew-bag with me and within a few minutes I had the water boiling and a fresh coffee on the go plus some chocolate biscuits – which allowed me to enjoy the scenery and the sheer peace and quiet of being in the middle of nowhere. This is what my bike was made for…
